Al-Quds Open University, represented by Dr. Nael Abu Halawa, Mr. Samer Al-Jaloudi, and Dr. Muhammad Ikhlil, took part in the second phase of the engineering skills training in Slovenia as part of the “REACH” project. The five-day program was conducted by qualified professionals from the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia and addressed a variety of topics, including product design, CAD / CAM / CNC, automation, and robots. The training included field trips to many laboratories specializing in manufacturing machines, mechatronics, production, and automation systems: LAMPA Lab, LABOD Lab, and 3D printing Lab.
It’s worth mentioning that 5 Palestinian universities and 4 European partner universities working within the framework of capacity-building in higher education through training students/graduates and providing them with the skills necessary to enter the remote job market in the field of engineering, and developing their capabilities to open up opportunities for them to get remote jobs through:
- Improve the competency and performance of PHEI career centers/graduate units in order to establish and expand cross-border employment opportunities.
- Enhance students’ and graduates’ capabilities in order for them to obtain cross-border work.
- Strengthen the connections between PHEIs and local and worldwide labor markets, with a focus on cross-border collaboration.
